Blue Mule Mocktail (NYE Colab with Oriya Rasoi)

Blue Mule Mocktail
Writing the last post for this year brings back a flood of memories, like a noir film reel quickly flashing through without much gap between each image or scene, most (images) bringing smiles but some even making me so so sad.

Whilst my toddler started nursery with a school that he will (hopefully) continue with for the next fifteen years, this blog my second baby saw some moments under the "sponsored'' sun. As every morning I pushed my body further than the previous day as I did my yoga stretches, I felt an immense wave of satisfaction. This year I also made many new friends from the blogosphere both food and lifestyle bloggers and had the good fortune of meeting my blogger friend Saswati from Delish Potpourri at her cosy and beautiful Goa home and made a dear dear friend in Sweta from Oriya Rasoi.

Sadly all positives have negatives and 2016 has by far seen the lowest of lows, I know this as I open the daily each morning to find humanity hitting a whole new level of low with every missile fired at a Syrian, with every bomb dropped on a school that teaches three and four year old's, photos of droves and droves of innocent people forced to flee their home and hearth and seek refuge in alien lands and though I most pride myself in ignoring the negatives and focusing on positives be it in people or situations, this time I cannot help by weep, weep for humanity, weep for our children and weep at the utter foolishness meted out by the worlds most "so called " intelligent animal.

Hope floats, as each year passes we hope again that the new year will bring in positive changes, that this year may see no wars, may see flowers bloom and faces of happy children running carefree with the wind in their hair and good fortune at their feet.

I pray that as mother earth takes her next trip around the Sun may all of us be blessed with the immense wealth of good health, a happy home and love of pure hearted friends.

On I lighter note I wish you all faster internet connections, smooth roads, clean air and smart phones with lots of GBs.

The last day of the year means partying with friends and having a jolly good time and where there is a party there have to be drinks. Collaborating for the last time this year with Sweta from Oriya Rasoi, I present my own modified version of the delicious Blue Mule Cocktail, sans the vodka.

Read on for the recipe.
Makes 1 Blue Mule Mocktail

You will need:

• 15 ml (1 tbsp) Fresh Lime Juice
• 60 ml (1/4 cup) soda water
• 30 ml (2 tbsps) Blue Curaçao
• 90 ml (2/3 cup) Ginger Beer
• Crushed Ice
• 1 Lime Slice
• 1 Mint Sprig

• Pour the fresh lime juice into a glass
• Add Soda water and Blue Curaçao.
• Pour in ginger beer.
• Add crushed ice.
• Garnish with a slice of lime and sprigs of mint.

Don't forget to checkout Oriya Rasoi's Kahwa Bubble Tea.

Happy New Year Everyone!

  1. Doesn't blue curacao have alcohol in it? Meaning that this would still be a cocktail, not a mocktail. It sounds super delicious though!

    1. This is Blue Curacao syrup not liqueur 😊 Thanks Sarah!
